Oxford: Fighting angry
By Chris Kieffer - June 12, 2006
Tense situation in the bottom of the fourht.
Miami had runners on the corners with one out when Dennis Raben bounced a ground ball up the middle. OM pitcher Will Kline fielded and threw the ball home to start a rundown that eventually retired Miami's Tommy Giles, the runner from third. Giles, who was just getting up after slipping when he was tagged, felt like Kline pushed him on the tag. Giles said something to Kline and players ran out of both dugouts before they were stopped by the umpire. Miami coach Jim Morris argued with the umpire and fans booed before the game resumed.
Kline then used consecutive changeups to strikeout Yonder Alonso and strand runners on second and third. Kline was greeted by jubilant teammates as he ran into the dugout.
Top 5 OM leads 7-6.
