Tulane's Sean Morgan struck out South Alabama's top hitter David Freese (.415, 11 HR, 70 RBI) on an 8 pitch at bat for the second out, then fell behind Jeff Cunningham 2-1 and hit him on his foot to force in Jeff Morris with the game's third run. Green Wave third baseman Seth Henry made a great play charging a short hopper from David Doss and throwing Doss out at first to get out of the inning.
Tulane got into a jam when Chris Davis walked and went to second on a sacrifice bunt, and Jeff Morris beat out a bunt down the third-base line that couldn't be handled by Henry. Tyler Jones walked to load the bases and Patrick Weaver singled in Davis.
