Oxford: Miami Brotherly Omen?

On this date June 11, 1999, David Gil, the brother of tonight's starting pitcher Danny Gil, beat Rice at the College World Series to move the former All-Americans record to 12-0. Perhaps that's the reason why he's tossing tonight? Or it could be the fact that they don't have too many viable options, but perhaps an omen for Miami.
