Oxford: Ready to roll
By Chris Kieffer - June 10, 2006
Players were just announced for both teams, national anthem has been sung (an acapella quartet), Miami players huddled in front of their dugout and both teams now wait in their dugouts.
Ole Miss is in white pinstripe tops and bottoms. "Rebels" is written across their chests in navy trimmed in red and white, and the Rebels are wearing navy caps with a red "M" in the middle.
Miami is in green tops and gray pants. "Hurricanes" is written in orange across their chest and the "U" is on thier shirt sleeve. The Hurricanes are wearing a gray cap with a green bill with a script "M: in green.
The place is packed, mor so than during last week's regional when Oxford led the county in attendance. Many fans sitting on the slanted hill down the third base line have cut the back legs off their lawn chairs to adopt them to the hill.
Here we go.
