Oxford: Rising to the top

By Chris Kieffer - June 04, 2006

Tulane left fielder Matt Riser scored twice in Tulane's nine-run fifth inning as the Green Wave now leads South Alabama 11-3 entering the sixth.
The Green Wave sent 13 hitters to the plate in the monster inning, and South Alabama used 3 pitchers.
South Alabama was nearly out of it when Tim Guidry hit a ground ball up the middle with two outs. Jaguar shortstop Guillermo Martinez threw the ball to second rather than to first, and Tulane's Brad Emaus beat the throw.
Tulane added six runs after that.
