Pac-10: Fans arriving early

By Lindsay Schnell - June 10, 2006

It's still three hours from game time, but Oregon State fans have been staking their claim since 10:30.

The Goss Stadium ballpark is not big on the number of spectator seats. The stadium can hold about 2,500 total, and tickets for the Super Regional sold out in less than 45 minutes. But fans are finding other ways.

Since this morning people have been constructing platforms along the outfield fence where they set couches and chairs to watch. Last year students sat on top Snell Hall, a building right by leftfield. That's been outlawed this year -- Snell is not exactly in the best shape -- so the couch platforms in the outfield are pretty common now.

I've seen quite a few fans already all over campus. For those of you watching on tv, expect a full crowd, most of whom will be clad in orange and black.
