Pac-10: OSU Wins
By Lindsay Schnell - June 11, 2006
OSU finishes the inning and the game three up/three down. The Beavers get the 4-3 win for an a 1-0 lead in the series.
Pretty good game, but not too impressive on Stanford's part. They're a better ballclup and they know it, so now it's just a matter of if they can figure out what's going on (specifically their third baseman who did not look good today) and try to pull out a win tomorrow. Oregon State looked like it has the last few games -- like it expects a trip back to Omaha and is confident it'll get there.

Great win for OSU. They have been disrespected all week, including being left off a poll on ESPN asking which remaining 16 would go to Omaha. Take a look at CSTV's preview of the matchup and you'll find a lot of info the Cardinal but alomost none for the Beavs.
This is a very good baseball team and one of two remaining teams that were in the World Series in 2005. I was at the game tonight and Goss Stadium was like the Bermuda Triangle for Stanford. Reynolds walked in and balked in a run and the Third Baseman had about 5 errors unofficially. He dropped 1 ball when they threw around the horn, and threw 2 away in between inning warmups on top of the 2 ridiculous fielding errors in play. Was he stoned?
I've watched good teams come to Corvallis all year and play poorly while the Beavers continue to be consistent if unspectacular. They combine solid pitching with timely hitting and briliant small ball execution. I look for OSU to win again tomorrow and make some noise in the College World Series.

Lindsay,
BTW, thanks for blogging this series even if you're not actually here.
