Pac-10: Tickets, anyone?
By Lindsay Schnell - June 10, 2006
Clearly, the Corvallis Super Regional is the hot spot in town this evening. (To say there's not much else to do in this place isn't an understatement. Trust me, I live here.)
Scalpers are selling tickets for around $30 apiece and say they have "seats everywhere." Originally, tickets went for $6 and $8 (that's a 400 percent increase, folks). I expect a packed ballpark. There are a ton of fans on scafolding along the outfield fence, as expected.
During the game, there's a good chance a tall, blonde kid will stand up and start leading the OSU fans in a cheer for the team. That's OSU coach Pat Casey's son, Jon, who has brain-damaged since birth, but is also -- and more importantly -- the team's No. 1 fan. Everyone who's familiar with OSU baseball is familiar with Jon.
First pitch will be thrown at 7:06 p.m.
