Clemson: Saturday In the Park
By Craig Jackson - June 03, 2006
No no. Not the CHicago song (I may be dating myself there). But Saturday at the park, Clemson style. Bloody Marys may be the order of the day in some parks, but Orange Crush rules at Clemson. The Tigers have finally made their debut in the 2006 Regional.
After a nearly 3 hour rain delay Friday, and a suspension to 11 AM resumption today, the Clemson faithful have not been disappointed. A 2 run second and a single score 3rd have put the Tigers up 3-0 on the Bulldogs from Ashville. The Tigers have hung 4 straight zeros on Ashville, and have a 3-0 ho hitter working. Ashville is not playing badly, as they hacve only given up 3 hits to Clemson.
Beautfiul day at the park. Blue skies, light clouds, bright sunshine, great SRO crowd, good baseball, and now I can begin to smell the bbq from out beyond right field. Not a bad place to spend the day.
Flip side of this is that the loser here turns right around and takes on a rested MSU team in the first loser go home game of the tourney.
Oh well. It could be worse. It could be raining again.
