Alabama shortstop Greg Paiml, who had committed two errors earlier in the game, slammed a leadoff home run to right to tie the game.

We are at 3-3 in the eighth and the game belongs to the bullpen aces Mike Felix and David Robertson. A neat stat on Robertson: he had retired the first batter he faced in 22 appearances. That ended tonight on a bad hop single.
