Tuscaloosa: Real Men's weather

By Mark Etheridge - June 10, 2006

I spent the first three innings of the game in the stands soaking up the baseball atmosphere. Unlike in Fullerton, where I hear the weather is in the high 60s, it is in the 90s and sticky here. This is weather for real men, not those tofu eaters from the left coast (shot across the bow to Sorenson).

Today's game is more like what was expected last night. Daniel Bard really didn't throw badly, he just fell behind each hitter and was playing Russian Roulette. He got away with it thanks to some atom balls and some over-aggressive baserunning.

This is a game that if you didn't look at the scoreboard, you'd think Alabama had a three or four run lead. Instead, it is 3-2 Bama as we head to the bottom of the fifth.
