Beheaded for jaywalking

By Mark Etheridge - February 25, 2007

Michigan State rallied with a three-run fourth to take a 4-1 lead over Jacksonville. We are in the top of the seventh now and the score has remained the same.

The Dolphins are without head coach Terry Alexander. The coach was ejected from yesterday's 14-4 victory over South Alabama. Atlantic Sun rules dictate an ejection results in missing the next game. In fact, if a player is ejected, the coach is also ejected and both will miss the next game.

That's pretty steep, especially since the opposing teams face no such penalty. Michigan State second baseman Steve Gerstenberger was ejected from Saturday's 11-6 to Auburn. Not only is he in the three-hole today playing against Jacksonville, his head coach David Grewe is in the dugout. If they were under A-Sun rules, they would both be MIA.
