Early mistakes put Tulane in a hole

By Eric Sorenson - February 24, 2007

Starting pitcher Brandon Gomes started the Trojan half of the 3rd inning with a groundout, but then hit a batter, got an error from Wave 2nd baseman Brad Emaus and hit another batter, loading the bases for USC.

All three mistakes ended up scoring, pacing the Men of Troy to a 3-0 lead after three innings here at Dedeaux Field.

I was sitting next to the father of Tulane's Rustin Rebowe, who told me last night's game here at Dedeaux was the coldest baseball game he'd ever sat through. And that includes some mid-30s temps games back in New Orleans.

Up here on the Sundeck along the 1st base side, it's warm and sunny. Kickin' back with my bare feet - trying to get rid of this awful winter glare of mine.
