Keep the ball down guys

By Mark Etheridge - February 24, 2007

The cool feeling making your jerseys flop around -- along with making the hotdog wrappers fly -- and the fans break out the jackets -- that is called wind. A very strong wind. Blowing out to left.

As you might expect, two balls have already left the yard. Pete Clifford slammed a Joey Doan pitch over the wall in left-center during the Dolphins' three-run third.

Bill Kleinschrodt followed with a solo home run for the Jags to -- wait for it - left.

Then the game's first controversial play followed in the fourth when JU's Brad Simmons hit one out somewhere near the leftfield foul pole. It was ruled a home run - much to the dismay of Jaguar skipper Steve Kittrell who put on an Academy Award winning performance after the umpire consultation didn't go his way.

It's 6-1 Jacksonville over South Alabama in the fourth.
