Let's Play Two

By Doug Kroll - February 24, 2007

Welcome back to Boshamer, as Stony Brook is taking infield practice before the first game of two here on a gorgeous Saturday. Sunday's game was moved up to a half-hour after this one due to impending weather. So we get home much sooner than thought!

After preaching that they will be better today, last night, head coach Matt Senk continued those thoughts today while the team warmed up in the outfield.

For the second consecutive day, UNC will throw a guy that comes into the game with a 0.00 ERA. The Seawolves were able to tag Robert Woodard for his first ER of the season yesterday, and will obviously try and do the same again today against Alex White. Last weekend against Seton Hall, White picked up a win by throwing six innings and giving up four hits and two walks, while striking out five.

Stony Brook will throw junior Mike Errigo in Game One. The Bayside, N.Y. native went 3-4 with a 4.52 ERA in 13 appearances in 2006, including nine starts. Errigo threw 63.2 IP with 50 strikeouts, and only gave up 2 HR all season.

UNC's bottom of the lineup is a little weaker than yesterday, with Seth Williams hitting .214, Tim Fedroff is 0-for-1 on the season, and Benji Johnson is hitting .143. We'll see if they can break out today.

Check out last night's recap with video being added all day from yesterday's action plus an alumni function in downtown Chapel Hill, for Stony Brook!!

Going down to the dugout for the first inning or so.

More later.
