Rice: 14-1 final

It's a final from Reckling Park, 14-1 Owls. Rice got sophomore walk-on shortstop Jimmy Comerota his first career at-bat, and he responded with a base hit in the seventh inning. That ties him for the all-time Rice batting average record with inimitable Iowa native Jon Gillespie, who was 1-for-1 for the 2003 national championship team.

That'll do it from H-town for now, but I'm sure our Southern California bloggers will have the Rice-Cal State Fullerton series for you next weekend.
