Everybody Wants Some

In a game where both pitchers have struggled with control, Texas has jumped out to a 3-2 lead over San Diego after three innings.

Longhorn starter Kyle Walker walked the bases loaded in the second, but struck out leadoff hitter Justin Snyder to avoid damage. In the bottom of the inning, Texas got two singles and two walks to plate one run, then Nick Peoples delivered a two-run single.

Walker again lived up to his name in the third, allowing two more free passes. This time he paid for them, as Logan Gelbrich delivered a two-out single to score both runners. Walker’s pitch count is already at 76, so he’s not long for this game.

I can’t seamlessly weave baseball and music discussion together like Sorenson, but I feel compelled to offer the following public service announcement: David Lee Roth and Van Halen are re-uniting for a summer tour. If you haven’t already rolled your eyes, if you still have any interest whatsoever in shelling out a small fortune for a Van Halen ticket, it’s my duty to break the news to you – Eddie Van Halen is reeeeeeeally old.

If that didn’t make you lose your appetite for Van Halen, well, this should make you lose your appetite, period – if you go to one of these concerts, there’s a chance you’ll hear this.

Consider yourself warned.
