TA, you're out of here

If one was going to guess which coach would get ejected in a 13-1 game, the smart money would go on the losing coach. Not today, as Jacksonville's Terry Alexander got run by base umpire Ricky Powell for a lengthy argument on a home run called a double with his team up a dozen.

It was Brad Simmons again who hit the disputed ball. Earlier in the game Simmons got a gift homer that was near the leftfield line. This one was to center and hit the second wall of ads behind the outfield wall and bounced back into play. If that is what happened, the ground rules state a home run. The umpire called it a live ball and Simmons pulled up at second.

For Alexander, it was the first time he had been tossed in at least three seasons and probably longer. His argument paled in comparison to USA coach Steve Kittrell's earlier dispute of Simmon's first potential home run. Apparently, Alexander's low-key but lengthy argument drew more ire than Kittrell's fiery demonstration.
