Toreros Gored!

By Glenn Tanner - February 03, 2007

Texas just plated six runs in the fourth to take a commanding 9-3 lead over San Diego.

In the top of the fourth, Torero Sean Nicol tied the game at three with a homer to left, but Texas broke the tie in a big way in the bottom of the inning.

Kyle Russell hit a deep fly to center that Mike Metzger lost in the sun or in the wind or something, and Russell ended up with a triple. Chance Wheeless scored him with a perfect suicide squeeze and made it to first safely on a bad throw. After a bunt single and a sac bunt (yes, that’s three consecutive bunts), Jordan Danks drilled a two-run single to make it 6-3. Danks then stole second and scored on Preston Clark’s double. Brad Suttle delivered a no-doubter to the grass berms behind left field to close the scoring.

Josh Romanski is still pitching for San DIego. Adrian Alaniz took over after Nicol's homer for Texas.

3-4-1 for San Diego and 9-9-1 for Texas.

And we’re up to 51 degrees here! Heat wave!
