Two Batters In, 1-0....

By Doug Kroll - February 23, 2007

UNC takes the lead...After SBU got its first runner aboard on the season thanks to an error, they weren't able to move Robbie Leonard up, and now two batters into the bottom of the 1st, UNC takes a 1-0 lead with back-to-back doubles.

The amazing thing about the second double by DH Dustin Ackley--he now has eight hits on the season, and SEVEN of them are doubles!!! Unbelievable. I've never seen a slugging percentage so high without a homerun, as it sat a .929 before the 7th double of the season.

UNC threatening for more, but just stubbed its toe trying to advance to third on a foul out...the umpire ruled Ackley out for leaving second base early...two outs, nobody on

Just like to add that Robert Woodard of the Tar Heels has one herky-jerky motion--something that a team that hasn't seen much live pitching would like to see i'd have to guess.

We're through one here in Chapel Hill, and it's 1-0 UNC.
