Cats scratch early

By Mark Etheridge - March 17, 2007

After scuffling for runs yesterday, Kentucky jumped out early with three in the first and two in the second off Razorback starter Jess Todd. Jason Kipnis hit his fourth homer of the season and the Wildcats took advantage of some Arkansas defensive mistakes for the early lead.

The Hogs scored one on the first on a check swing single by Wayne Hrozek. They've stranded seven runners through three innings - that's tough to do.

UK starter Andrew Albers was removed in the second with an apparent blister. He was replaced by Scott Green, who has allowed just one run all season in 10 innings.

In the bottom of the third, Kentucky up 5-1
