Devils up 4

By Mark Etheridge - March 02, 2007

Arizona State breaks the ice first with a two-run single by Matt Hall. LSU transfer Jarred Bogany - who came in hitting .115 - just laced a double down the line in left. Bogany and assistant Turtle Thomas played in their park last season with LSU.

Andrew Romine followed with the inning's second two-run single that tipped off the glove of second baseman Robert Brooks. Brooks apparently let it carry over since he just booted a grounder that would have ended the inning. Woodall rebounded to retire Sogard to end the inning.

An interesting note is that ASU first baseman Brett Wallace, all 245 pounds, leads the team with six stolen bases.

The first guy up for Auburn in the second is Brooks, who was involved the defensive miscue in the top half, got Auburn's first hit. He then strayed too far off base and doubled up on a pop in front of the plate.
