Forgot to point this out, Rice's problem is...

the team batting average coming into tonight is freakin' .256! That's hard to believe. I'm willing to bet Wayne Graham himself just wants to grab a bat and go to the plate, gritting his teeth.

The opponents bat at a .228 clip. So that's more Rice-like for the quality arms of the Owls.

Now you see why Rice is just 10-5 and not still the No. 1 team. But as Wayne Graham told me in the interview I did with him in Houston a few weeks ago, "Hitting always comes and goes. Pitching is more important."
