Game ends mercifully

By William Bretherton - March 31, 2007

Neither the Gamecocks nor the Commodores plated a run after the top of the fifth inning, and it allowed the 12-1 score to finish more quickly. The Commodores clinched the series this weekend with the victory and move to 26-3 for the year, and 5-3 in SEC play.

Meanwhile, the Gamecocks are looking forward to tomorrow to get some sort of redemption against a Vanderbilt team that came out today with a purpose. For the season, South Carolina falls to 22-6, and 4-4 in SEC play.

Winning pitcher - Mike Minor (4-0)

Losing pitcher - Mike Cisco (2-2)

Tomorrow's game starts at 1:30 and will not be televised.
