KSU-UT: Bad Trip Getting Worse

By Glenn Tanner - March 24, 2007

Last night, Texas pushed across two runs in the seventh to make their lead 10-0 over Kansas State. Today, they matched that 10-0 score after only four innings.

Texas second baseman Travis Tucker has batted in all four innings, and he's had a heck of a day -- singled and scored in the first, RBI tripled and scored in the second, walked and scored in the third, and RBI singled in the fourth.

In the third, Josh Prince and Nick Peoples doubled to make it 6-0 and chase KSU starter Chase Bayuk. Reliever A.J. Morris didn't provide much relief, though, as he walked his first two hitters and served up a two-run single to Chance Wheeless to make it 8-0.

It went to 9-0 with one out in the fourth when Kyle Russell poked a high fly ball down the left field line that, with the help of the wind, cleared the wall for Russell's 15th homer of the season. The Texas season record is 20. After a Josh Prince double, Tucker blooped a single to make it 10-0.
