Nashville: Early check-out for UIC?

By Chris Lee - March 11, 2007

After dropping the previous two games to Vandy and now trailing 10-1 in the top of the fifth, UIC just hit into another inexplicable double-play, causing me to wonder if some players are just ready to get home.

On a routine pop-up to Vandy's David Macias in center by Nick Rainwater, UIC's David Cales, who was on second when the play started, went halfway to third and watched Macias make the play. He took his time getting back to the bag, and Macias consequently gunned him at second for the second outfield-initiated double play in five innings.

10-1 Vandy as Pedro Alvarez leads off the fifth for the Commodores.
