Nashville: Empty threat

By Chris Lee - March 18, 2007

Ole Miss has hit the ball hard once today on Overbeck's home run, but the Rebels have five hits to show for their effort.

Missisippi's Justin Henry led off the third with a slow chopper to short that Ryan Flaherty couldn't come up with. Then, Zach Cozart, on almost a defensive swing on a 2-2 pitch, blooped a ball the other way into right for a single and Henry took third.

Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco has been agressive on the bases all series, and then sent Cozart on a steal of second. Catcher Shea Robin alertly threw back to pitcher Brett Jacobson, who saw Henry wandering off third, which resulted in a 2-1-5-2 putout. Cozart alertly took third on the play.

Jacobson struck out Andrew Clark swinging, then hit Overbeck with a pitch. But he fought back to get Logan Power on a 6-4 force, and got out of the inning.

Still Ole Miss 2, Vandy 0 after 2 1/2.
