Nashville: More Rebel runs

By Chris Lee - March 18, 2007

Once again, an Ole Miss bleeder bites Vandy. With two out and nobody on, Zack Cozart chopped a ball to third that Pedro Alvarez had to wait on because of a funny hop, and Cozart just beat the throw to first.

Vandy's Brett Jacobson thought he had Andrew Clark struck out on a 2-2 pitch, but umpire Owen Butts ruled it ball three. The next pitch, Clark hit a hard chopper to first that Brad French didn't get his glove out far enough to field, and the ball got into the right field corner where Dominic de la Osa booted it, so Cozart scored and Clark took third.

Then, Jacobson sailed a wild pitch past catcher Shea Robin for a second Rebel run.

Ole Miss 4, Vandy 1 heading to the bottom of the fifth.
