Nashville: Stretching
By Chris Lee - March 11, 2007
We've got a yawner as we go to the seventh-inning stretch in Nashville. Vanderbilt leads Illinois-Chicago 11-1, and Brett Jacobson's day is done. The right-hander is in line for his fourth win, as Cody Crowell just pitched a scoreless seventh in relief for Vandy.
There's not much noteable about the last couple of innings, except Vandy's David Macias recorded his second outfield assist on the afternoon (and the team's third) when he just missed a diving attempt at a looping fly ball, but UIC's Brett Schaeffer got caught in between first and second not knowing whether it would be caught or not, and didn't get to second in time.
Brian Harris leads off the seventh for Vandy with a single... that's the Commodores' 17th hit today.
