Alabama made a final run in the bottom of the ninth. Senior Greg Paiml led off with a single and scored on Emeel Salem’s double to right-center. After Steve Edlefsen got pinch-hitter Del Howell to ground out, Alex Avila doubled to left-center scoring Salem. Edlefsen struck out Kent Matthes and Matt Bentley to end the game.
