Owl bats provide two-out nightmare of their own

By Eric Sorenson - March 03, 2007

Rice opens things up here in the 5th inning. Joe Savery singled and Aaron Luna hit a moon shot to right field after the first two hitters went down quietly.

After Luna's homer, Danny Lehmann doubled and a Joe Scott error put runners at the corners. But a brilliant, diving snag by second baseman Joel Weeks kept the Owls from adding to Kaplan's woes.

It's now Rice 4-1 going into the bottom of the 5th.
