Oxford: Bruins even series

By Chris Kieffer - March 10, 2007

UCLA wins 7-6 to even series at 1.
Ole Miss got runners on first and third with one out in the ninth, but UCLA turned a double play to win it.
Bruins shortstop Brandon Crawford made a run to his right to snag a ball hit by Ole Miss third baseman Cody Overbeck. Crawford made an athletic throw to second while faling towards third and UCLA second baseman Alden Carrithers made a quick turn to retire Overbeck. Play was close at first and several Ole Miss fans angrily booed the call.
Crawford said he was looking for the force out at second but that Carrithers made the quickest turn he's ever seen.
