Tide ties

Pinch-hitter Elvin Vargas led off the eighth reaching on a tough infield error. Pinch-runner Tyler Odle took second on a Greg Paiml sacrifice bunt. Odle raced home on Salem’s dad-hop single to center.

Salem is on second and Jake Smith is on first. #3 hitter Alex Avila at the plate against the Vol closer Lockwood. One out.
