Big, Big, And Bigger

By Doug Kroll - April 18, 2007

Not only are we packed in like sardines here in the Sarge Frye Field pressbox, they are out in the stands too. As expected, many more fans clad in the Garnett attire, but there are a few Purple/Orange t-shirts in attendance for this huge rivalry.

It's standing room only down the lines, and as we play here in the first, neither team has sat down. A few regulars can't remember a crowd this big, even when the Gamecocks have hosted super regionals. To say this place is juiced, is an understatement.

It's a gorgeous night, high clouds, sun still shining as the temperature sits around 70.

South Carolina starter Matt Cisco just gets through the first with the help of his outfielders. After giving up singles to Wilson Boyd and Taylor Harbin, centerfielder Andrew Crisp made some crisp plays in center to get Cisco out of the inning.

Strolling up to the hill now for Clemson will be freshman lefty Matt Zoltak. The Philly native is 1-2 in 10 apperances (one start) with a 3.86 ERA. He's being tossed into the fire to say the least.

Let's see how he does...
