Clemson may have just squandered its last chance in this one, as they got two men on with two men out in the 8th against Farotto. But S.C. coach Ray Tanner went to the 'pen to bring in righty Wynn Pelzer (the closer on this team, even though the team has a total of 2 on the season, he has one of them). Pelzer forced a weak pop up off the end of the bat to second base and the 'Cocks escpaed the top of the 8th sitll holding a 4-1 lead.
