FSU: Big Swing
By Michael McGuffee - April 21, 2007
Florida State snuck out of the fourth inning as sophomore Jimmy Marshall replaced starter Michael Hyde on the mound and got UNC's Reid Fronk swinging with the bases loaded and two outs.
Left fielder Ohmed Danesh came up first for the Seminoles and slapped his first pitch down the right-field line and way out of the park to extend the lead to 3-0. Designated hitter Tommy Oravetz reached first on a fielding error but the Tar Heels ended the inning with a double play and a fly-out to right.
Hyde finished 3 and 1/3 innings with one hit and three strikeouts, and Marshall has stepped in nicely from the bullpen. He struck out UNC lead-off hitter Tim Fedroff and catcher Buster Posey caught Garrett Gore stealing second for the last two outs in the top of the fifth.
