FSU: 'Noles, Tar Heels up and running

By Michael McGuffee - April 20, 2007

Clear skies in Tallahassee for what should be a good night of baseball between two of the nations best as the Seminoles of Florida State host the Tar Heels of North Carolina. The first game of the series features a duo of unbeaten right handers with FSU's Bryan Henry (9-0) going head-to-head with UNC's Robert Woodard (7-0).

The infield looks a little ragged as the 'Noles are in the process of resurfacing, but with good weather and plenty of fans filing into Dick Howser Stadium, all is looking good for this Atlantic Coast Conference powerhouse matchup.

Both teams will be looking to get back on track in this one. The Seminoles took a 5-4 loss to in-state rival Florida Wednesday, ending a 30-game unbeaten streak at home. The Tar Heels come in having dropped two of their last three.

The all-time series tilts 54-21 in favor of Florida State, with the 'Noles winning 14 of the last 15 games on their home turf. However, UNC is 6-1 on the road this season.

The field is painted and the lineups are set so let's play ball. Leading off for the Tar Heels will be right fielder Tim Fedroff.

More to come
