Halfway Home

Alabama tied the game in the fourth on singles by Brandon May and Kent Matthes and a Matt Bentley sac fly.

Both starters have been on their games thus far. SC's Hempy has scattered four hits while UA's Quigley has allowed just two hits.

Hempy is making his seventh start of the season after an arm injury caused him to miss the end of last season and the start of this one. In those six starts this season, he has logged just over 26 innings. He has been going deeper into his starts each week and may be ready for a stretched-out effort today. He hasn't allowed many good swings as the Tide hitters have scuffled to mount much of an attack.

Quigley has a lot of late life on his pitches and as a result has not given up many hard hit balls either. Quigley has rebounded nicely after getting knocked out in the second inning at Auburn last Friday.

We're tied at 1 in the bottom of the fifth.
