Houston: Rice adds two more insurance runs

By Amber Obermeyer - April 15, 2007

Well, this rubber game was interesting for six innings, at least.

With Wes Musick unavailable for this weekend's series, Houston just does not have enough pitching to stay in this Sunday game despite a solid offensive effort.

In the top of the eighth, Barry Laird allowed two walks, a double, and a single before being replaced by Donnie Joseph, who retired Chad Lembeck and Jordan Dodson to limit the Owl damage to two runs.

Wayne Graham has replaced Scott Lonergan, who retired all five batters he faced including two strikeouts, with Cole St.Clair. Most likely, Graham just wants to get St.Clair, who is returning from a shoulder injury, some work before Tuesday's game against the University of Texas.
