McCrory takes over, just to get relieved; Breedlove trucks on

By Tristan Threlkeld - April 27, 2007

Pat McCrory was supposed to come in and relieve Russell after he struggled in the fifth. Well McCrory came into the game and threw seven consecutive ball and and his eight pitch he finally got his first strike, but the next pitch was a ball and that put two runners on the bags.

The Cowboys pinch hit for Kendall Horner and sent Steve Ptak to get a sac-bunt that moved the runners into scoring position. The Longhorns make another pitching change, this time sending the reliable Joseph Krebs.

Krebs does his job by sitting down Keanon Simon for the Cowboys to end the sixth and get a sigh of relief from the Longhorn fans in attendance. Head coach Frank Anderson must be shaking his head in disappointment after his Cowboys could not plate any runs. Going into the top of the seventh the score is still tied 2-2.

Anderson may be disappointed with the bats, but he has got to be pleased with Breedlove's outing. He just gave up his fourth hit of the game, which resulted in a Nick Peoples triple.
Can the 'Horns capitalize?

Anderson unhappily trudges to the mound to inform Breedlove that his best outing of his career has to end after he intentionally walked Chais Fuller, but he leaves to a standing "O". Justin Friend is in for relief duty.
