Mr. Jones

South Carolina second baseman Travis Jones is hot. Real hot. Sarge Frye Field just isn't big enough for him.

Jones has enjoyed his first year on the USC campus. He's only 5-foot-9, but Jones' opposite-field homerun in the bottom of the first was the 11th of the season. That's great as is, but how about that's now 8 homeruns in the last 8 games. Six homerus in April.

The Lake City CC product bats second in the Gamecocks order, and was drafted by the Phillies in the 40th Round of the 2005 draft. The Phitin' Phils could use him right about now. He'd probably be able to hit 11 homeruns in that bandbox, too.

By the way, there are fans standing on the top row of the softball stadium that sits beyond the leftfield fence. Now THAT is standing room only.

Clemson has three hits as we head to the bottom of the 2nd, but S.C. still leads 1-0.
