NASHVILLE: Price wiggles out of trouble
By Chris Lee - April 20, 2007
UT's Yan Gomes singled up the middle to lead off against Vandy's David Price, and Price balked him to second.
Price struck out Jeff Lockwood, but nicked Danny Lima with a pitch to give the Vols men on first and second with two outs.
No matter. Price fanned Shawn Griffin for strikeout No. 14, then got Cody Brown to pop right to David Macias in shallow center for out three.
Price is just amazing tonight, and has only gone to a three-ball count twice in throwing 93 pitches through eight. He's throwing four pitches for strikes, and the Vols have only one really good swing against him all night. In the hundreds of baseball games I've ever watched, this is as good as I've ever seen anyone pitch.
