NASHVILLE: Underway

By Chris Lee - April 08, 2007

The sun is shining, and it's a relatively-balmy 45 degree at Hawkins Field today, with an intermittent brisk wind that's blowing towards left when it blows.

Alabama, who had three hits Friday, three Saturday, and five on Wednesday against UAB, has two singles in its first three at-bats today, a blooper by Jake Smith and a hard single up the middle by Emeel Salem.

First and second, one out for the 'Tide... and as I write, cleanup hitter Kent Matthes bounces into a 6-4-3 double play to end the threat.

Poor Jim Wells must be pulling his hair out... that's eight hits and two unearned runs in 19 innings of baseball in Nashville.
