NASHVILLE: Vols strike first
By Chris Lee - April 22, 2007
Tennessee got its first lead of the weekend as Andy Simunic and Julio Borbon led off the third with singles, and Tony Delmonico laid down a bunt to get them over a base.
Steve Shao then waked cleanup hitter J.P. Arencibia to pitch to No. 5 hitter Yan Gomes, who homered last night. Gomes hit the first pitch hard up the middle, scoring two runs and leaving men at first and second.
Vandy's third starter evidently will continue to be its achilles' heel for one more weekend unless Shao gets it together soon.
