OSU-Texas: Ejections comith; Horns holding strong

By Tristan Threlkeld - April 29, 2007

In the bottom of the seventh inning Cowboy third baseman Matt Mangini was ejected after arguing a called third strike. Mangini was immediately ejected, but he was not ready to go, he threw off his helmet and got in the face of homeplate umpire Mike Morris. Mangini then threw his bat down and continued to give Morris some choice words I'm sure. Well after a few minutes Mangini left and Cowboy head coach Frank Anderson came in to continue the argument. He was not ejected but got at least a warning. The officiating crew held a brief meeting after Anderson went back to the Cowboy dugout. I said this game would get interesting and it has, just not by the actions of the actual game but by the actions of the fans, coaches and players arguing with the umpires.

Heading into the bottom of the eight inning Horns still lead 7-0. They will most likely hang on to this game as they have the sure handed strong arm Joseph Krebs on the mound to close the game out.
