Oxford: Controversy

By Chris Kieffer - April 29, 2007

Ole Miss just got out of the seventh inning jam on a tight play at first.
With MSU runner Mark Goforth on third and two outs, OM pitcher Cody Satterwhite worked the count to Joseph McCaskill to 3-2 (throwing two 96-mile-an-hour fastballs and two at 94). McCaskill then hit a hard bal to OM shortstop Zack Cozart. Cozart stabbed the ball and threw to first. It was a close play at first and first base umpire AJ Lostaglio called McCaskill safe drawing a heated protest from MSU first base coach Tommy Raffo. After much arm waving by Raffo, MSU head coach Ron Polk picked up the argument. No avail.
1-1 Bottom 8.
