Oxford: One of those nights

By Chris Kieffer - April 27, 2007

Perhaps Mississippi State's night is best exemplified by a play that occurred in the bottom of the third inning. With Logan Power on first base, Mississippi State pitcher Jesse Carver threw wildly to first on a pickoff attempt. The ball got away allowing Power to go to third. Mitch Moreland's throw to third to retire Power bounced above Bulldog third baseman Connor Powers for the second error on the play and Power scored all the way from first.
Ole Miss has 17 hits through three innings and guys are already looking up the school record for hits in a game (don't know what it is yet). Rebels lead 14-2 in the top of the fourth.

After just missing a team cycle in the second inning, Ole Miss got one five batters into the third inning. And then continued to bat around.
Jordan Henry led off the inning with a double and through three innings, he's already a home run shy of a cycle.
Big brother Jordan Henry then hit the Rebels' third triple of the game and Cody Overbeck hit their second home run of the game and his team-leading 10th of the year. Power got the single.
