UCLA-USC: SC strikes first. Up 2-0. But UCLA's athletic program is far better this year.

Matt Cusick and Grant Green both singled to start the Trojan lineup and ended up coming around to score on a sac fly by Lucas Duda and a bloop single by Hector Robago.

But I forgot to mention before the game, with UCLA's series clinching wins over USC on Friday and Saturday, that was enough to clinch the Lexus Gauntlet Challenge. That's a year-long competition between the two sports programs. If you're keeping score at home, UCLA's point total has increased 57.5 "points" while USC has just 22.5. (Five points are awarded for whoever wins the baseball series).

So if you look at it points-wise in the Lexus Gauntlet, UCLA's athletic program is vastly superior to USC's. Man, half my friends out here are going to love that. Half are going to hate that.
