ACC: Hits are going over the wall, I'll have to check the rule book...

By Glenn Tanner - May 25, 2007

Seven completed games into the ACC Tournament and zero, zip, nada in the home run column.

In the first game today, Clemson's Andy D'Alessio hit a bomb that looked like it should have gone 500 feet, but the wind knocked it down and it bounced off the wall.

But the wind has died down quite a bit for game two tonight, and all of a sudden we have home run derby.

The first came from an unlikely source.

In the bottom of the second inning with two on, Miami catcher Richard O'Brien hit only his fourth homer of the season to give Miami a 3-1 lead over Florida State.

The second came from a likely suspect.

In the top of the third, Tony Thomas yanked a long homer down the line in left to make it 3-2.
