A-Sun: Mercer Exemplifies Resiliency

By Bryan App - May 23, 2007

Again, the Bears respond. This team can really flip the switch when they need to. Another big lead-off hit and some small ball gave Mercer a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth.

Tyler Brown led off the eighth with a double, moved over on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a perfectly executed squeeze play.

Mercer forced Gardner-Webb to dig deeper into its bullpen in the process, and the Bears are three outs away from taking the tournament's opening game.
